I took the handmade pledge and decided to start buying handmade gifts for others or making them myself if possible. We have a lot of family birthdays during the summer months. My husband's sister just had a birthday and is headed to college this fall. She purchased a new laptop and I thought it would be cool to make her a padded laptop case to go inside her messenger bag. She is a pretty eclectic girl like myself, so I knew I could have fun with it. I had purchased some quilt squares from Fabric Square Shop a few years ago, and was waiting for the perfect project, and this was definitely it. I followed this pattern and just sewed my fabric squares together to the dimension of the exterior fabric. I found some coordinating fabric at a local store for the lining. It was really simple and only took a couple of hours to complete. I added velcro to the flap to make it easy and quick for her to get the laptop in and out. I am really pleased with how it turned out and she said she loves it!
One down and 6 to go by September!
Always,
Amanda
