Mama Notes

When Buddy was a baby, I was really good at keeping a baby book and a little calendar of all of his important milestones. When he passed the age of one, the calendar was over and the baby book came to an end except for birthdays and first day of school. But Buddy was still doing so many cute things that I didn't want to forget.

Then Little Man came along and as they say, you never do as much for your other children as you do for your first. And that has been so true with me. Not nearly as many pictures and an empty baby book.

BUT, I came up with a little idea that has helped me keep track of special moments and important milestones for both boys. I went and purchased a cute spiral bound notebook. It is made of bamboo and has green owls on the front...adorable! A few nights a week, I sit down and write down the cute things the boys did or said that day, or some milestone like "Little Man rolled over today." I already have pages full of memories that I hope my boys will enjoy reading through someday. And I feel no pressure, like I do with a baby book or more formal memory keeping journal. I just do it at my own pace when I am able.

Here is a glimpse at what I wrote tonight.

Little Man is rolling, twisting and turning like crazy. He can almost roll from his back to his tummy. He definitely goes after what he wants. He's so "adventureous"...he loves to swim and splash, be "thrown" up in the air, and swing on my lap at the park.

Buddy is so outgoing and "nosy" when we goshopping. He always asks strangers..."What'ch you doing man?" or "What'ch you buying?". Today he said, "Give me privacy!" He also had some cute mispronunciations today..."slipplers" for "slippers" and "Olivila" for "Olivia".

I'd love to hear the ways you record the special moments and important milestones of your children?

Always,

Amanda
