I am a little late posting this for the month, but I did want to share with you the learning activities that we have been doing and will continue to do throughout this month in addition to the activities already in our rotation.
Theme: Spring/Easter
I purchased a set of plastic eggs for the boys to play with. These are fun for color matching activities as well as open/close skills.
I found this egg tray at the thrift store. They have had a lot of fun with it. Here it is being used for color matching.
And here for color/pattern sequencing.
I also numbered the bottom of this egg carton so that Buddy can practice counting when placing the eggs inside. He has since pulled out all of the stickers. :)
We sorted through our plastic cookie cutters and found all of the Spring themed ones to use with the play-doh.
I found these fun eggs in the dollar section at Target and the tray is from Party City. Buddy enjoys using the tongs (Hobby Lobby) to transfer the eggs around the tray.
These little Easter Egg Cards were purchased at Party City. We are using these for matching and pattern sequencing.
I printed these eggs to use for a size discrimination activity. Buddy already lost one before I photographed them, but I think I found it this evening when I was cleaning the playroom!
This basket and number set is a fun way to practice counting and number recognition.
Buddy loves these little eggs that came with the basket printable from above. He is enjoying carrying them around in his pocket in addition to sorting and matching them by colors and patterns.
Buddy and I enjoyed placing these Easter themed stickers onto strips of paper that now make up his cutting tray for this month.
Each month, I plan to make a sensory bin for Buddy to play with to go along with our weekly themes for that month. This month of course is Spring/Easter. I used colored rice as the base and then added fun little Spring and Easter themed toys that I found at Party City and Target in the dollar aisle. This is a great activity to pull out when Buddy starts to act bored and I am trying to get some housework done.
At the end of the week, I will share some of the other fun things we have been doing this month to prepare for and celebrate Easter as a part of our "learning at home" experience.
What fun things are you doing to celebrate Easter with your kids?
Always,
Amanda
