Birthday crafting for my sis...

This past Saturday was my sister's birthday and I wanted to give her all handmade gifts.

I started with this "market" bag that I saw on The Purl Bee. It was a fairly easy knit. It just took me a while because I haven't been in the knitting groove lately. I used to always knit while I nursed Little Man, but now he grabs everything and has pulled my knitting off the needles once or twice, so I can't do that anymore! It turned out pretty well except for my kitchener stitch. It was a little too noticeable for me so I disguised it with some Yo-Yo's using this tutorial. I knit this using 100% cotton yarn.

Next up is a pencil roll that I made to hold her graphite pencils. She's a great artist! I found a 4-piece set of fat quarters with a purple theme (which is her favorite color.) She loved this!

For some reason I can't get this picture to post landscape. I need Blogger help!

I love making headbands, so I decided to make her a headband using the scraps leftover from her pencil roll. I used this pattern, but made it a tad bigger. I also gave her this Gluten-Free Vegan Cookbook. I "wrapped" it in a recycled t-shirt tote bag that I made. I don't have any pictures but will post a tutorial soon!

Happy Birthday Jenny!!!

Always,

Amanda
